Yes, there are two methods you can use.
The first and the easiest is to go to the properties page for the autoresponder your subscription form is for and in the “Subscription confirmation success page” enter the destination url of the page you want them to be taken to upon successful subscription. You can also redirect them to a different page if their subscription fails for whatever reason (already subscribed etc) by entering a url in the “Subscription confirmation failure page”.
The second method is to use a “Tracking Tag” (select Tracking Tags from main menu). When you create a tracking tag you can set the url for subscribe success, subscribe failure, unsubscribe success and unsubscribe failure. Now when you generate your subscription form: select the Tracking Tag you want to use and when someone subscribes to this form they will be redirected to the url you entered. The tracking tags are more flexible because if you use the same autoresponder from different sites/pages then all you need to do is change the tracking tag used in the subscription form to re-direct your subscribers without having to create an autoresponder for every site/page.
It all depends on your budget and how many emails you plan to send per hour on average.
A dedicated server will cost more than a virtual server, but for that extra money you get a lot more processing power. Typically on a virtual server the processor will be shared between a number of other virtual servers all running on the same physical hardware. i.e. If you have 5 virtual servers then each virtual server will get approx. 20% of the CPU (Central Processing Unit) processing power.
Because sending emails puts a greater demand on the processor and hard disks, a virtual server with only 20% of the CPU power will typically only be able to send 20% of the amount of email that a dedicated server can. This is a simplified example, and other factors can affect the amount of email you will be able to send on both a dedicated and virtual server.
On most low cost unmodified dedicated servers you would typically see an email delivery capacity of approx. 8-10K emails per hour. A virtual server with a 20% CPU share would typically deliver 1.5-3K emails per hour on average. Virtual servers can often get more CPU and memory when processing intensive operations for short periods of time which is called “Burst” mode.
If you are starting a business and want to test the waters then a virtual server can be a good way to go, just remember if you want to move to a bigger server later then you will have an additional cost and some downtime when you move the software to a new server.
